Sarah Vavredge, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in VA with 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents. Sarah has worked in schools and private practice with a diverse group of children and families. She graduated with a Masters in Counseling from a CACREP program from Wake Forest University. She has been a National Certified Counselor and LPC in North Carolina, and a certified School Counselor in Virginia and North Carolina.
Sarah utilizes multiple modalities when working with children and adolescents, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play therapy, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) with a person-centered approach. Sarah has experience working with children with anxiety, depression, ADHD, identity development, and behavioral concerns. She provides a safe space for children and adolescents to explore their deepest emotions and challenges, and a space to explore family concerns, peer pressure, social anxiety, peer conflict, and self esteem.
Sarah believes that therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist, the client and their family that allows children and adolescents to be able to meet their full potential. She believes that each individual is unique and the therapeutic process can be tailored to meet their needs. Children and adolescents are able to develop tools and skills to help them process and address the challenges the face through the therapeutic process.
Sarah is a Virginia board-approved clinical supervisor for Residents in Counseling.
