Nashwa Ghali, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. She has practiced in various settings including private practice and outpatient hospital settings such as Children’s National Hospital and Inova Kellar Center. She specializes in helping individuals with ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and also specializes in family and couples counseling.
Dr. Ghali believes in the importance of finding the right therapist and understands how crucial it is for an individual’s growth and healing. She is primarily trained in Family Systems and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but also employs a range of evidence-based techniques to work collaboratively with her clients. Taking an integrative, family-systems approach, she involves parents regularly in sessions to promote collaboration and integration at home. Dr. Ghali is well versed in neuropsychological and psychological assessments for clients ages 6 to 80, with two years of training at leading medical institutions where she worked with adolescents and teens managing conditions such as traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, cancer, concussions, autism, and ADHD. She has extensive experience providing psychological assessments for diagnostic clarification and developing comprehensive treatment plans. Her assessment approach is holistic: she takes time to understand each client’s full history, looks beyond presenting concerns, and provides clear, thorough feedback so that clients leave with answers, resources, and a confident understanding of their next steps.
Dr. Nashwa Ghali earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology from George Mason University. She obtained her Psy.D. from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C., where she completed an internship with Fairfax Mental Health & Wellness.
