Marynet Bishay, Psy.D., is a pre-licensed resident in psychology with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. She has practiced in various settings including private practice, schools, and community mental health organizations, specializing in helping individuals who have experienced trauma, suicidality, anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues.
Dr. Bishay believes in the importance of finding the right therapist and understands how crucial it is for an individual’s growth and healing. She is primarily trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but she also employs a range of evidence-based techniques to work collaboratively with her clients. Her goal is to help you achieve your goals in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. Viewing individuals through a multicultural lens, Dr. Bishay emphasizes the importance of understanding each person as a whole.
Dr. Marynet Bishay earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University. She obtained her Psy.D. from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington D.C., where she completed an internship with the Centerstone Consortium in the sexual assault and trauma services department. Dr. Bishay also has extensive experience providing psychological assessments for diagnostic clarification and developing comprehensive treatment plans.
