Jackie Laurenzi, M.Ed., Counseling Intern, joins Reynolds & Rubino team having recently completed her coursework in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University. She believes that working on one’s mental health is an important step to creating a healthy, satisfying life. Jackie enjoys partnering with her clients to discover how different aspects of one’s life are intertwined and reciprocal. She gets to know her clients’ backgrounds, as well as their wants and needs, through supportive conversation and genuine interest. Trust between client and counselor is a top priority before diving into emotional work.
Prior to her career in private mental health counseling, Jackie received her Masters degree in School Counseling from George Mason University and worked for over 10 years as an elementary school counselor and elementary classroom teacher. As a result, she has passion for working with children, their families, and relevant stakeholders to create lasting and meaningful change that is felt both at school and home. In addition to working with children, Jackie works with couples, expectant or new parents, and whole families. She favors a Family Systems Approach in her work, partnering with clients to uncover how everyone’s expectations, behaviors, and beliefs contribute to the functioning of the whole unit. She then works with her clients to determine how to achieve their desired outcomes in order to experience more peace and enjoyment in their lives.
